Croatia Property

Zagreb

Zagreb is a charming old Austro-Hungarian city with an atmospheric old town and a strong cultural scene. There are many museums and the opera house is particularly noteworthy. Even the main railway station is a splendid Austro-Hungarian building facing onto the beautiful gardens that bisect the city. Despite being Central European in appearance, it has a Mediterranean feel, with everyone passing the time of day in the dozens of pavement cafes around this beautiful city.

Dubrovnik

Dubbed the “Pearl of the Adriatic” , locals are proud and protective of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik looks too perfect to be entirely real. A stroll along the 2km of city walls provides an incredible view of the Old Town and beyond. Cobbled alleyways and streets are home to a myriad of café´s serving a delicious blend of different influences that is Croatia Cuisine, splendidly accompanied by excellent local wines.

Istria

Over in the northwest is Istria, not far from Trieste, in Italy, which has a very Italian feel, both in landscape and food. Istria, Croatia’s jewel, is a land of rolling wooded hills, with Italianate fishing towns and Tuscan hill villages. Here you will find lovely historical coastal towns whilst the interior is like a picture postcard. Property can be quite expensive in this area due to high demand and Istria´s proximity to the rest of Europe.

Dalmatia

Dalmatia, with its coastal plain flanking the Dinaric Alps and thousands of offshore islands. These vary from large islands with their own towns and villages to tiny, uninhabited islands. The northern islands can be reached via the airport at Rijecka and the more southerly islands via Split or Dubrovnik airports. There is an extensive ferry service linking the islands with the mainland.

Split

Split is the center of cultural and scientific life, with many institutions, museums, gallerys and theatres. Due to its central position on the Adriatic coast and its exceptional environment, Split has developed into the leading and biggest city of South Croatia. The present city of Split is an organic fusion of its antique heritage and of modern architecture, set in a beautiful Mediterranean landscape.
